Mascot Change Resources
The process to change the Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) mascot began in fall 2020, when the Study Group for Mascot Review was established to evaluate the existing mascot, the Tomahawk. This group, representing a range of stakeholder perspectives, convened for the first time in December 2020 and issued a formal recommendation on April 9, 2021, advising that the Tomahawk be retired.
After the Regional School Committee accepted this recommendation, the Mascot Renaming Study Group was formed in July 2021 to identify options for a new mascot. This 17-member group led a thorough, community-engaged process. Their work concluded in fall 2021 with the selection of our current mascot, the Titans.
