Forget Resolutions, We Want a Revolution!
As the calendar switches from one year to the next, many of us make resolutions: Get organized! Workout more! Eat better! This year consider reading more than you did last year. Nothing earth shattering, but it could be fun, widen your horizons, or help you relax.
Typically, reading is a solitary activity, but we would like to make it a collective one. Participation is voluntary, but greatly encouraged. What will you get out of it? Bragging rights, recognition, a sense of accomplishment, and prizes.
How can you participate? To start, fill out this registration form. This will provide the information to establish a school goal, as well as create some fun challenges. Once you start reading, fill out this form for every book you finish (physical, graphic novel, ebook, or audio). This will allow us to see the most popular books here at Algonquin, which class is reading the most, and if the adults are actually practicing what they preach!
There will be three prize cycles: One in May, before the Seniors graduate, another in September to see who continued to read through the summer, and the final one in December 2026.
Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration, by participating in our Reading Revolution!
