From The Harbinger:
We are proud of our award-winning student news publication, The Harbinger, which published new online content every school day. The editors are hard at work on their first print magazine of the year (It's 36 pages long and filled with excellent content!).
The students work hard to sell ads and get donations to create an excellent print and online publication for the community. Please consider donating to support student journalism at Algonquin.
With a $40 donation or more, you can have this year's print issues mailed to the recipient of your choice! Visit arhsharbinger.com and scroll down to see the "Support the Harbinger" box.
If your business is interested in advertising in the publication, please reach out to the Editors-in-Chief at arhsharbinger@gmail.com
From APTO: Senior Parents: Don't miss out on the APTO Scholarship opportunity! As a reminder, students are eligible if their family has contributed a total of $100.00 to the APTO over the past four years. To meet the requirements, please submit your donation by January 1, 2027. Thank you for supporting our school community. More information regarding the scholarship to come.
From Our Nurses:Sometimes it’s hard to decide when to stay home from school and when it is okay to go to school when you're feeling ill; to help you make the decision please review these Illness Guidelines. For more information, check out these Respiratory Virus Guidelines.
The health departments have 3-in-1 COVID, FLU A and FLU B test kits if needed.

The Algonquin School Council, comprising elected parent and student representatives, as well as members appointed by the principal, serves as an advisory body under Massachusetts law, charged with supporting school improvement planning and providing guidance on key initiatives. Over the course of the year, the group will monitor our school's progress on the actions outlined in the School Improvement Plan.
At our most recent meeting on October 20, Asst. Principal Gitkind joined the Council to provide a summary of interventions we offer in Math, including Title I tutoring and Math Lab. We also discussed plans to govern cell phones (i.e. how to reinforce current classroom norms for using classroom storage options, like shoe caddies), and the actions outlined in the School Improvement Plan.
The meeting slides are available here. Our next School Council meeting is scheduled for November 17.
