PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear ARHS Families,

I am sending this Friday update a little earlier in the day than usual to remind families that the window for signing up for Parent-Teacher Conferences will go out at 5 pm today. At that time, you will receive an email from each of your child's teachers, inviting you to schedule yourself into an appointment. Then, you have three different ways to schedule yourself into conferences:
  1. Click the link included in the email that you received, or
  2. Sign in to the ParentSquare web portal on your computer browser, or
  3. Use the mobile app
Once you complete one of these three steps, you can schedule appointments with your child's teachers. The process should be pretty simple and relatively painless.

Also, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the students who participated in—and the dedicated staff who organized—today’s Titan Games, a Special Olympics-style track and field competition for students from our elementary and middle schools, as well as our own students, including those in the Community Access Program. The athletes opened the event by reciting the Special Olympics oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,” setting the tone for a day of spirited competition.

We had perfect weather and many enthusiastic supporters, who came out to cheer on our athletes who displayed skill, determination, and joy across a variety of events, including the 100-meter dash and ball throw.

We’re grateful to the students and staff who came out to cheer them on, and a heartfelt thank-you to the team whose hard work made today possible.

Go Titans!

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan

SCHOOL NEWS

From Our Yearbook:
Picture Re-take day is Thursday, October 8, 2026

From Our Nurses:
No one should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Food insecurity—the lack of reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious food—affects individuals and families right here in our community. When healthy groceries are out of reach, it impacts everything from physical health to mental well-being. This week, we are sharing these Supplemental Food Resources to ensure everyone in our neighborhood has the nourishing food they need to thrive.

From The Sachem:
We hope you’ll come out to support the publication of our 2026 and 2027 magazines by attending Sachem’s Haunted Coffeehouse. Please buy your tickets in advance and plan to arrive early for pictures, snacks, and the best seats!

To purchase tickets for this year's Haunted Coffeehouse, please click Here or scan the barcode on the poster below:

From the Soccer Boosters:

Dates:  Tuesdays - Six-Week Program.  We will not ski during midterm exams and February vacation.

January 5, 2027  February 2, 2027

January 12, 2027 February 9, 2027

January 26, 2027 February 23, 2027

Dates may change if we have weather or other issues. Changes will be communicated through email and/or school announcements.

Bus Fee:    The bus fee is $187.00 and covers 6 trips to and from Wachusett Mountain on AA Transportation Sport Coach Bus.   See Ms. Betar or your guidance counselor for a fee waiver. The bus fee is non-refundable unless a student from the waiting list takes your student’s spot.

Students/parents must pay for the bus using the on-line ARHS Unipay system. Once a student or their parent pays for the bus on-line through Unipay,  email the club advisor, Jane Betar (jbetar@nsboro.k12.ma.us) and she will give you the registration code so you can sign up at Wachusett.com/schoolgroups.

You MUST sign up using the Algonquin Registration Code.  Please DO NOT give away the registration code or sign up on the Wachusett website without first contacting Ms. Betar and paying for the bus.  If your student already has a season pass, that is okay; you can select that when registering with the Algonquin group.

Times:  Leave ARHS at 2:45 outside the gym in the back parking lot. Board the bus at Wachusett at 6:45 p.m. and return to ARHS between 7:30 - 8:00.

Storing Gear on Tuesdays:   Students can leave their gear in the Ski Team locker room in the morning before 8:00 a.m.  The locker room will be locked soon after that.  At the end of the day, students can change in locker rooms, grab their gear, and board the AA White Bus in the back parking lot near the gyms.

Sign Up Process Begins Monday, October 5th and goes until November 5th.  The club has room for 40 students, but it fills up quickly!  Every year we have a waiting list, so don’t wait to sign up.

  1. Go to Unipay and make the bus payment for ARHS Ski Club (not ski team)

  2. Contact Ms. Betar and she will share the Algonquin Program Registration Code once the bus fee is paid.

  3. Student or Parent will go to wachusett.com/schoolgroups and enter the code to access Algonquin’s program form.  Sign up and pay for the 6-week program in the Algonquin group only, not as an individual.  The Lift Badge costs $199.00.  Here is the Student Flyer for more information.

If a student already has a Season Pass, there will be a check box during ordering to select that they already purchased a pass.

There are 40 spots and the club fills up quickly.  On-line sign ups begin October 5th, so pay for the bus using Unipay first, then contact Ms. Betar for the Algonquin Registration Code.  Again, PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE.

  1. Permission Slips Due by December 15th:  Once you have signed up with Unipay and Wachusett, print out a receipt, pick up a permission slip in H204 or ask Ms. Betar for one.  Read it, sign it, and return it to Ms. Betar by December 18th, 2026.

ATTENTION NEARY ALUMNI!! Please see the following note from Neary Principal Millett:

You're Invited to Join the Neary School Council

We are inviting Neary alumni, family caregivers, and staff members to join the Neary School Council for the 2026–27 school year.
The School Council provides an opportunity for members of our community to share feedback, offer different perspectives, and help support the continued growth of our school. It is one important way families, caregivers, and staff can have a voice in the work happening at Neary.
Meetings will be held from 3:15–4:00 p.m. in the Neary Conference Room on:
    • Thursday, October 8, 2026
    • Wednesday, December 9, 2026
    • Tuesday, February 10, 2027
    • Wednesday, May 12, 2027
  • If you are interested in serving on the council, please email me directly: tmillett@nsboro.k12.ma.us. We hope to bring together a group that represents a range of voices and perspectives. If family and caregiver interest exceeds the number of available seats, participants will be selected at random from those who express interest.
Thank you for considering being part of our work at Neary. We value the opportunity to work together to support our students and school community.

    Thanks!
    Mr. Millett
