PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear ARHS families,

Each year, on 9/11, we adjust the morning announcements to draw students' attention to the day. Sometimes, I make the announcement myself, and other times, our student volunteers do it. This year, Junior Emma Tougas stepped forward ahead of time to ask to draft and then make the announcement herself as a member of the club Operation Enduring Freedom to mark the 25th anniversary of the historic event. The club supports and highlights military personnel, veterans, and first responders through assemblies, volunteering activities, and raising awareness of issues affecting the military and their families. Many thanks to Emma for stepping up to lend student voice to this important day.

Other quick items worth noting:
  • School pictures update: We had some unanticipated delays yesterday for School Picture Day, the result of working with a new company that experienced the growing pains of doing school photos of all 1,200 students and 150+ adults. Much appreciation goes out to the APTO and our office staff for working through the issues yesterday so that students could get their photos taken and get back to class. If your child missed their photo, they may have it taken on Picture Retake Day on  October 8, 2026.
  • Open House, 9/23: Just a reminder that, on September 23 from 6:00–8:15 p.m., we are hosting our annual Open House. I will send a personalized schedule to each parent before the event, which will be helpful as you plan to navigate our very large building.

Finally, I hope that your child has had a good first few weeks. Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan
Principal, ARHS

SCHOOL NEWS

ATTENTION NEARY ALUMS!! Please see the following note from Neary Principal Millett:

You're Invited to Join the Neary School Council

We are inviting Neary alums, family caregivers and staff members to join the Neary School Council for the 2026–27 school year.
The School Council provides an opportunity for members of our community to share feedback, offer different perspectives, and help support the continued growth of our school. It is one important way families, caregivers, and staff can have a voice in the work happening at Neary.
Meetings will be held from 3:15–4:00 p.m. in the Neary Conference Room on:
  • Thursday, October 8, 2026
  • Wednesday, December 9, 2026
  • Tuesday, February 10, 2027
  • Wednesday, May 12, 2027
If you are interested in serving on the council, please email me directly: tmillett@nsboro.k12.ma.us. We hope to bring together a group that represents a range of voices and perspectives. If family and caregiver interest exceeds the number of available seats, participants will be selected at random from those who express interest.
Thank you for considering being part of our work at Neary. We value the opportunity to work together to support our students and school community.

Thanks!
Mr. Millett
