PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear ARHS families,

I am happy to report that we had a great first four days of school: the weather was lovely, and the students brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the building, which was a welcome change from the quiet of the summer.

Just a reminder that, on September 23 from 6:00-8:15 pm, we are hosting our annual Open House. This event is a time for our families to achieve an understanding of their child’s school experience by 'walking their schedule’, meeting each class period for ten minutes. I will send a personalized schedule to each parent before the event, which will be helpful as you plan to navigate our very large building.

Ahead of Open House, I invite you to nominate yourself for a two-year term on the ARHS Council, which is an advisory group to the principal that all MA schools convene. The group is composed of teachers, other staff, students, parents/guardians, and community members. Among other things, the group provides input on the School Improvement Plan (SIP), meeting monthly to receive updates and provide feedback on initiatives related to the SIP. Our meetings are once per month (usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday) from 4:30-5:30 pm. The meetings are hybrid.

If you are interested in running for School Council, please complete this form by the end of the day on September 14. There will be an election via paper ballot during Open House on September 16. On the ballot, your name and personal statement of interest will appear.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Have a great three-day weekend.

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan
