Informational update from ARHS: Important Doorman Updates and Resources

Posted Date: 08/24/26 (03:46 PM)

Dear ARHS families,

Thank you for your patience as our staff worked to respond to questions from the community about ARHS’s adoption of the Doorman app. Our decision to introduce Doorman at ARHS is guided by three priorities: protecting the learning environment, preparing for forthcoming state legislation that will restrict student cell phone access, and responding to student health data showing growing concerns about the impact of technology use on students. Together, these factors point to the need for a more consistent approach to reducing the distractions and challenges created by cell phones during the school day.

We want to make sure parents and guardians have the information they need to understand and support this change. Here are some important updates and resources:

  • Doorman launch date change: The first day of implementing the Doorman app has been moved to Wednesday, September 16th. This affords students the opportunity to go through one full rotation of their schedule and familiarize themselves with the rhythms of the school year before beginning to use the app.

  • Frequently Asked Questions: please click here to see answers to frequently asked questions.

  • Parent/Guardian Information Session, 8/27: Parents and guardians interested in learning more are invited to a Virtual Information Session at 7 pm on Thursday, August 27. The link is here.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to create a positive, challenging, and enjoyable experience for all of our students. We look forward to welcoming our students back on September 1 for another great year.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan
Principal, ARHS
