PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear ARHS Families,

In the past few weeks, our juniors participated in work that connects directly to one of our strategic priorities: implementing SchooLinks as a comprehensive college and career exploration platform that provides clearer guidance and support to students and families while increasing guidance staff members' engagement with students’ college and career portfolios.

This goal emerged from a close review of college and career readiness platforms, through which our staff concluded that SchooLinks would better support students and families not only in the college planning process, but also in career exploration and development, an area that continues to be an important focus for ARHS. We adopted SchooLinks this fall for students in the Class of 2027 and beyond, while current seniors continue using Naviance so that they would not need to transition to a new platform during their final year.

Over the past two weeks, I attended several junior workshops led by our Guidance Department and observed a number of features and tools that SchooLinks offers beyond what was available in Naviance. Junior families are encouraged to check in with their child about the workshops and the ways the platform is helping make postsecondary planning and career exploration accessible, personalized, and straightforward.

As with many initiatives, this work continues to evolve. We are continuing to gather feedback, refine implementation, and consider how we can deepen opportunities for students to engage in career exploration and postsecondary planning.

I hope this helps make visible some of the ways our strategic plans are showing up in and around ARHS every day.

Have a great weekend. And, Happy Mother's Day to all of the ARHS moms out there!

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan
