Informational Update from ARHS: Weekly update, 10/31/2025

Posted Date: 10/31/25 (4:30 PM)

The Tiny Titans preschoolers trick-or-treated today around the school, led by their teachers, ARHS students from the Early Childhood Education program. Through the program, students learn about early human development, explore curriculum strategies and concepts, and gain field experiences working in our on-campus preschool, The Algonquin  Preschool. PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear ARHS families,

I am writing today to share with you important information about our ALICE protocol, which we would employ in response to a safety concern in our school, including an intruder. We will be conducting a "tabletop" exercise of the ALICE protocol in classes on Monday, during the last block of the day. The goal of the training is to provide students and staff with an overview of our practices, including how they should respond to a real ALICE event.

During the exercise, teachers will show students a brief screencast overview of the ALICE protocol. At the end of the screencast, students will hear a sample ALICE announcement—part of the video itself—and their teacher will then guide them through a low-intensity walkthrough of how to respond, including how to barricade classroom doors if ever necessary.

The ALICE program is just one of several strategies we employ to keep our students and staff safe. And, while there is no singular strategy that eliminates the threat of school-based violence, I feel strongly that the most effective tool we have is communication, especially when someone in our school community has a concern about student safety. To that end, I want to be sure that you and your child are aware of Say Something, an anonymous reporting tool that allows users to submit tips they have about any issue related to student safety. To submit a tip, click here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean Bevan
