Please see the letter below from the advisors of Changemakers for Good: Dear ARHS students and families, We are writing to you to share the exciting news that the Changemakers for Good program will continue at Algonquin Regional High School this year. The program will provide our school with the opportunity to communicate and reinforce our core values— integrity, empathy, inclusivity, equity, perseverance, respect—while providing the 9th-12th grade students with a unique opportunity to lead the conversation with their peers.
All 9th-12th grade students are invited to apply to participate as Changemakers. Please note that spaces will be limited. Applications will be reviewed in September and selections made by October. Notification will be sent to applicants and their families.
The founders of Changemakers for Good LLC, Phil Fogelman, and the Manso-Brown Group LLC, Danika Manso-Brown, will facilitate the training of our school’s selected group of Changemakers. Phil and Danika have more than 50 years of combined experience in education. Sandra Bunsick and Suzanne Stimson will serve as the program advisor(s) this year.
The training sessions will take place during school on September 29th and October 8th. The sessions will engage the Changemakers in activities and discussions on the subject matter and in learning how to co-lead the activities and discussions for other students. Following the training sessions, the Changemakers will meet weekly with their Program Advisors to review and practice what they learned.
Please feel free to make any additional changes that you feel necessary.
Thank you,
Suzanne Stimson & Sandy Bunsick
